Creative Storm develops hi-tech wall impact graphics for national records retrieval company

HAMILTON, OH –When The Records Company, the nationwide records retrieval company decided to move into new spacious quarters, they really wanted to make a hi-tech statement.

Partnering with the CreativeStorm Marketing firm seemed to make the most sense. One of the unique services Creative Storm offers is what the company calls “impact walls,” supergraphics designed and installed to span across large office walls.

“When The Records Company saw what could be done, they immediately said this was what they were looking for,”said Linda Dektas, CEO of Creative Storm. “They had just completed an impressive hi-tech video with a company in San Francisco, and our designer tied in a 60 foot impact wall design with the tech theme of the video.”

The Brookings Institute agrees with the philosophy of bringing hi-tech surroundings to the workplace. Recently, the Institute conducted 50 interviews with top architects to gain insight into the subject. The interviews concluded that today a technology environment is more pervasive, connecting people to ideas and to each other in ways not seen before.

“We have seen how impact wall graphics affect things in a major dramatic way,” continued Dektas. “The transformation of normal office space into something truly inspirational is dramatic. The work that The Records Company does in nationwide retrieval of records is cutting edge and unlike any other. Now their office environment is unique as well.”

Creative Storm pioneered the impact wall environmental design service in 2012. Since that time, many corporate and government institutions have contracted the services, including Macy’s, the City of Cincinnati and Horter Investment Management among others.                

“Today, changes in demographics have influenced office design,” Dektas observed. “Millennials as well as older generations view environmental design as a means to connect. On reflection, the impact wall designs create just the right kind of environment to bring multi-generational groups together.”

Creative Storm tells the story of climbing Mt. Vinson in Antarctica

MASON, OH –Matt Brennan is a true mountaineer. Matt partnered with Creative Storm to tell the story of his latest climb, climbing Mt. Vinson in Antarctica.

Part of the PR story is that Matt is climbing the icy summit with a famed guide, Dave Hahn, the most experienced and widely regarded Vinson guide in the world, having accomplished 29 summits at Mt. Vinson!

Media were excited to cover this story, as the story ran in various Cincinnati print publications. Matt set out to climb the 7 summits’ highest peak on each continent. Mt. Vinson makes number 5 in his quest. Matt has also climbed Aconcagua in South America, Denali in North America, Mt. Elbrus in Europe, and Kilimanjaro in Africa. 

Creative Storm is proud to be part of this amazing accomplishment. Next year, Matt climbs Mt. Everest and Creative Storm PR will be right with him!

Creative Storm participates in “Catch the Wave” Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – Linda and Mike Dektas of Creative Storm participated in the WBENC Annual “Catch the Wave” Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The conference features business creative breakout meetings and collaborations of women-owners from the entire Midwest region.

CINCINNATI, OH – How do you make sure your company is on top of the world? Creative Storm recently told the story of Loveland man, Matt Brennan in his Horter-sponsored climb to the summit of Mt. Everest. In honor of the climb, Matt will be staking the Horter flag literally on top of the world. Creative Storm accomplished PR coverage for this unique event on all the Cincinnati TV stations, in the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Cincinnati Business Courier, the suburban newspapers, and the Loveland Magazine.

Matt has begun his climb, and will reach the top of Mt. Everest the beginning of June. He is regularly sending photos and video updates, which Creative Storm is sending to the TV stations for the news to follow Matt’s progress.

CHICAGO, IL – Northwestern University recently held its Business Advisory Council and invited Mike Dektas to speak on Automation in Transportation, on behalf of Workhorse Electric Vehicles.

The meeting was held at the Evanston campus, where Northwestern operates its Transportation Center. Mike’s speech focused on “last mile delivery,” a subject which has appeared heavily in the news. The Council included executives from Boeing, UBER, General Electric, the Port of Los Angeles and many others. The Leon N. Moses Distinguished Lecture recognized economist Martin Eichenbaum as this year’s recipient.

CINCINNATI, OH – The P&G Alumni Group held their annual event this year, with emphasis on marketing. Creative Storm was invited to participate as a leading Cincinnati-based marketing firm. Exhibiting in the main hall, Creative Storm presented a host of sample marketing programs which were created for both local as well as national clients. As part of the program, Mike Dektas presented to the group the P&G case history of a PR Event for Pepto Bismol. The event was well-attended, setting a new attendance record.

Creative Storm to Participate in the 2017 ORV-WBC “Catch the Wave” Conference

LOUISVILLE, KY – Creative Storm announced today that Linda Dektas, CEO and Owner, will be participating in the 8th Annual Regional Conference, “Catch the Wave” in Louisville, Kentucky, presented by the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council (ORV-WBC).

The theme for the conference is “Defining Success – Explore the Possibilities.”

The conference features both a full spectrum of keynote speakers, as well as breakout sessions. Ms. Dektas will be sharing with other women-owned businesses best practices used in the growth of the Creative Storm marketing firm.

“Participating in the Annual Catch the Wave Conference always produces many new ideas that we use to grow our business at Creative Storm,” said Dektas. “Each year the ORV-WBC outdoes itself in presenting stimulating information in creative ways. To me, participation is a must.”

The Catch the Wave Regional Conference brings female entrepreneurs together to network, learn, and gain inspiration from each other. The conference provides access and training to both women business owners, as well as ORV-WBC corporate members across the region. This year’s conference is expected to draw over 350 attendees, including over 30 corporate members’ buyers and supplier diversity teams.

The spirit of the Louisville conference is defined by St. Francis of Assisi: “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

Scott Sloan of Clear Channel Speaks Out for Two Creative Storm Clients.

CINCINNATI, OH – At Creative Storm, we believe in the credibility that a strong PR program brings to our clients. Through media relations, Creative Storm recently scheduled live interviews on the Scott Sloan radio show, heard on over 800 stations across the country through the Clear Channel network. 

The first client was Workhorse Technologies. A 25-minute segment in this news program featured the CEO of Workhorse, discussing the recent successful residential drone package delivery by UPS in Tampa Florida. Following the interview, calls came in to Workhorse from many cities. 

A second interview on the Scott Sloan news hour with Drew Horter, the CEO of Horter Investment Management, discussing the unique “Horter University” program that teaches high school students how to plan their financial future. A long-format 25 minute interview produced results, as the next Horter University session filled up fast.

Creative Storm Awarded SBE Certification

CINCINNATI, OH – Creative Storm announced today that the firm has been awarded Certification as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE). The SBE Certification expanded the firm’s qualifications as an economic inclusion diversity supplier.

“Our firm continues to grow in the government contract area, and the SBE Certification is an important credential in this arena,” said Linda Dektas, Creative Storm Owner & CEO. “We are very excited to have received this acknowledgement.”

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recommends the SBE Certification as a unique distinction for small businesses entering into government contracts. Dun & Bradstreet cites that today many government contracting opportunities are reserved for small businesses meeting the SBA’s standards for SBE Classification. The SBA uses the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) as the basis for qualifying an SBE company.

“The government as well as an increasing number of global brands are recognizing the strong potential of economic inclusion programs in helping them grow their businesses,” continued Dektas. “We are committed to this forward-thinking method of doing business, and proud to be part of the group of SBE companies across the country.”

The SBE Certification was presented to Creative Storm by Thomas B. Corey, Director of The Department of Economic Inclusion City of Cincinnati, and is effective through January 26, 2018. Creative Storm also holds the WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) Certification as a minority credential.

Creative Storm Kicks Off Fourth of July Holiday

MADEIRA, OH – Creative Storm and American Savings Bank officially celebrated Independence Day this year above a float in the Madeira parade on July 2nd.

Linda Dektas, Creative Storm CEO said, “Celebrating America with American Savings Bank is really special. Everywhere you looked in the parade you saw red, white and blue. And a lot of patriotism!”

Madeira celebrated Independence Day with a long parade up Miami Avenue. It was a celebration everyone enjoyed. The American Savings Bank float featured the bank CEO dressed as Uncle Sam. A good time was had by all.

Mike Dektas Hosts American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medalist Award Ceremony

CINCINNATI, OH – Thursday, May 20th marked an important day in advertising for 2015. The American Advertising Federation (AAF) held the Silver Medalist Award Ceremony honoring the outstanding advertising professional of the year. Michel Keidel, Cincinnati Creative Director, was inducted this year in an unusual ceremony held at the Horseshoe Casino River Room.

Creative Storm created the format of a “Roast & Toast” fun time, as many colleagues shared stories about Michel, and eventually, the day culminated with the actual Silver Medal Award presentation. A record advertising crowd turned out for the event.

Hosting the 2015 AAF Ceremony was Mike Dektas, president of Creative Storm. Speeches were very entertaining, and the program was highlighted by a 10-minute feature video with clips from Pete Rose, Morris the cat and more, created by Creative Storm and Sound Images.

The AAF Silver Medalist Award has been given for over 50 years to deserving individuals who have contributed significantly to the advertising community. In attendance were many past Silver Medalist recipients, which included Mike Dektas, who had received the prestigious award in 2011.

Creative Storm Earns National Women’s Business Certification

CINCINNATI, OH – Creative Storm, a full-service advertising and public relations agency, earned national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
